This is a relaxed afternoon of historical, and historically-influenced, dancing and dance tips for everyone. Beginners are welcome and no partner is needed. Once again our Throne Room Dance team is hosting our annual Labyrinth pre-event workshop to teach the group dances, done throughout the evening in the Throne Room Ballroom, along with the lovely Congress of Vienna waltz, and Waltz Survival Basics. (Yes, you CAN waltz if you learn a few tricks and tips!) Dance, sip tea, and get to meet & greet LOJ friends throughout this afternoon of dance. With callers DARLENE HAMILTON & CHRISTOPHER GAUNTT • Beginners Welcome • • No Partner Needed • • Costumes Optional • We have taught hundreds of people to dance and waltz! Join us for a fun afternoon of dances to be featured at 24th Labyrinth Masquerade Ball! This month we are not hosting a potluck however the goblins have told me they won't mind if you bring a treat ready to serve. COSTUMES? ONLY IF YOU WISH! This is a great opportunity to test out costume pieces and learn to move more easily in them! (With a reminder to avoid high heels, trains, wings, or anything else that drags, clunks, or sticks out, as these generally interfere with your dancing or the dancing of others. Thanks!) Of course, costumes are never required. We like to encourage folks to wear something that brings you joy! PLEASE NOTE: When attending any dance class, be sure to wear comfortable shoes for a dance floor. Please no high heels for this workshop. We also don't recommend sneakers as they tend to stick to the floor. Please wear shoes that will move smoothly across a wood dance floor. FRIENDSHIP DANCE SCHOLARSHIPS Friendship Dance Scholarships are available for all Historical Tea & Dance Society events. Our community believes that dancing should be available for all. Whether you are brand new or LOVE this style of dancing, Tuesday nights in Pasadena is where you learn the skills to dance with elegance and ease! It’s a great mid-week pick-me-up with dance friends old and new.
